“You And Me” : Behind The Scenes

“You And Me” by Wayne Brady

Wayne Brady is one of those faces and household names known to the public because of his humor, namely because of the show “Whose Line Is It Anyways?” and other comedic productions. He is both funny and a talented singer and dancer. In 2008, Brady released the song “You and Me” just two years after his second divorce, but this time there was a child involved. The lyrics of this song are a reflection of what he felt during the separation this time, focusing mainly on his connection to his daughter. He told his story through song, in the way he wanted to tell it. SAS Movie Studio provides the avenue to do this; giving you full control of your narrative and the way you express yourself.

Everyone has a vulnerable side to them and it’s an admirable thing to see an artist express that side of themselves, whether it be through the course of music, film or photography. SAS Studio is here to support that method of expression. We want you to be yourself, express your sentiment, idea, or thought the way you envision it. SAS Rentals is here to equip you with everything you need to make your story come to life. SAS Rentals can provide you with all that you need to accomplish this the way you want to, whether it is the correct lighting to convey a certain mood or shoot from a specific angle unattainable with standard camera operations. We can even make it rain for you! SAS Studio has your back for all of your creative production needs.

In the video of “You and Me”, there were many angles shown. There’s a scene in the video that goes along with a line in the song that says, "We'll still be a family even if there's no you and me."

Every angle, specific to each scene expressed something different; and Brady was able to express that feeling of love for his daughter in the midst of what seems like a sad occasion. There are moments in the video when the camera is zoomed in solely on Wayne Brady, following his movements; we are called to remember the depth of his story, but there’s also a sense of loneliness when he’s the only one in view, which is why the lighting is darker there. SAS rentals has the lift and cameras needed to achieve that atmosphere as well. In other scenes where they are dancing, it’s dark yet the lighting also adds brightness when the camera gets focused on the couple. There’s a sense of togetherness, yet the feeling of being apart, which the actual dance in the video conveys as well. The camera shows a wide angle and then switches to a telescopic lens to first show the love that was once shared, but we know now isn’t there anymore. SAS was able to help Brady express those feelings in his production by providing top quality camera equipment. Any audience viewing your work will see and feel the exact effect that you want. Within the video, there are scenes in which his daughter is present and the shot is full of light, expressing the happiness that is still to be felt through her. Our led panels and ARRI Lights are perfect to achieve any effect you need. Whatever is necessary for your production, SAS Rentals and Movie Studio is here for you.

Everyone who watched the video was inspired by Wayne Brady’s song and his story as a rising star. His start was actually at the Walt Disney World Resort, being casted as Tigger. A role in which is not your own voice or face that people see, left him in obscurity. Suddenly he rose to fame after being casted in a guest role in the popular animated series in 2000, “Batman Beyond,” and then landing his own variety TV show 2001. Since then, his star continued to rise as a comedian, actor, and even singer. Many artists get discouraged when they release their creative content into the web and they don’t receive the amount of fame or support they would like, but SAS Movie Studio is here to give you the foundation you need to rise above and exit obscurity.
